Default ABS and BRAKE light ON?!?!? HELP ???

I had a blow out on my front passenger side and I used my spare. After about driving 20 miles down the road my "ABS" and " BRAKE " Lights lit up on my front cluster gauges. Any Help is appreciated

If its like the rear, there should be a speed sensor on the front like the rear. Im sure the spare wheel is smaller than the stock, so it may throw off the reading to the computer. I am not sure of this, I am guessing. Either that, you damaged your abs sensor when you had a "blowout."

Check the ground to the third brake light. If your third brake light doesn't come on when you hit the brake peddle, there's your problem. Happened to me.

Most shops can scan your ABS system for diagnostic codes, this could help you find the root cause. When my ABS light was on, I had to replace the ABS Motor Pack -- an easy job, pricey part.

If you are using the donut spare, it will have to spin faster to keep up with the rest of the wheels. The ABScompares wheel revs to detect slippage. Sinceall the wheels should bespinning at the same rate when the brakes are not in use, the one wheel spinning faster than the othersis detected as an ABS problem and the system is turned off.

Unless the car has traction control (which includes 4 channel ABS), there is only one sensor for the rear wheels and it looks at the reluctor ring attached to the differential carrier, so it can't tell if one rear wheel is going faster than the other. (3 channel ABS)
