Default 99 3.8 w/ dead OBDII port

I am trying to help a friend out. She has a 99 Camaro 5sp 3.8 with 114k on the clock. She had a mechanic "diagnose" it about 6 months or so ago. They told her to replace the mass air flow sensor. So, she didnt and I had to go rescue her due to the car barely running. I replaced the sensor and it started and runs good, but has some hesitation on the freeway. I suspect plugs.....

I took the car to autozone to get the CEL codes read.... no power to the obd2 port under the steering wheel. I checked fuses, the "engine sens" fuse in the box under the hood was blown. I really scratch my head on why THAT fuse would pop. And how they diagnosed the MAF if it was blown.... replaced said fuse. Still no power to the port. so, if anyone has any ideas on what to do with that, or how to read the codes, I would appreciate any advice.....

(footnote... cig liter fuse blown. did not replace. a/c does not work, compressor doesnt come on, i dont suspect low freon, and the relay is good. is there a way to jump the low pressure switch to determine if the compressor works?)

first your posting in the LS section as in LS1 or V8 no big deal tho... second im pretty sure the obd port gets its power from the lighter replace that fuse and it should work fine as for the ac compressor i dont suggest you rig it to run with low freon theres a reason it stops working

the 16th pin on the od2 connector provides power to your scan tool if you changed the fuse to the ob2 connector and it still doesnt communicate trace the wire for shorts and the pin with a test light and see if it provides power

Can a moderator move this to the proper section?

Replace all your blown fuses, if the port still isn't live and you're not good at electrical troubleshooting, take it to the dealer shop or another good shop to fix.

Then get it scanned.
