Unhappy 95 Driveshaft Replacement

HELP! I'm trying to make sense of what seems to be conflicting information. Carrier bearing on my 3.4l w/a 2pc shaft went out. I have to use car for a 16 hr road trip leaving next saturday am.
Various sources (this site included) indicate 1983-2002 one piece will fit.
ebay sellers variously state theirs will fit, some state theirs will not fit this particular model (cross-ref list provided). Mine measures 41 3/4" center to center. One of those listed stated it fit 41 1/4". Hod do I address balance, etc. with a used one? Can someone please clarify?
Does anyone have a steel or alum 1 piece that will fit? I know I can spend $300 or so and be guaranteed a fit - don't have that much excess right now.

Yes, a third gen (700rR4/4L60) and fourth gen driveshaft will work. I've interchanged them before.

^ What makes you think a 5 speed is different from an automatic for a driveshaft?

I wasn't sure if the splines might be different. We all know how Chevy likes to make three different options for one part.

Splints won't matter. Your just unbolting yours at the u joints and rebolting in the one peice.
