Default 93 3.4 advice needed

93 3.4 auto ok heres the deal, car runs great while still cold but soon as it gets warm and goes to closed loop it stumbles badly and backfires, ive replaced ,map, temp, crank, cam sensors, air intake sensor,o2 sensors, ignition module and coil packs, new cat converter, cleaned egr, still shows code 36 (24 x) been doing some research and ran across something i need advice on,,according to gm the service number recommended for my ecm doesn't match what is in mine,,i'm thinking someone might have swapped it out with the wrong one,,some say that the 93 ecm was specific to the 93 but 94 and up were intechangeable amongst 94 and up,,meaning the 94 and up are not interchangeable with the 93 ,so hearning this does anybody know if this is true,,or if my ecm isn't the issue here??

The 93 uses a ECM while the 94 & 95 use a PCM (OBDI), the 96 & up are OBDII, and they are not interchangeable. From your problem description, the car runs good on open loop and bad on closed loop. This would indicate a bad sensor or bad sensor wiring. Get the ECM scanned, the Check Engine lite is probably lit or there are stored trouble codes. When you unplug the O2 sensor the ECM is forced into the open loop mode, same as when the engine is cold.

Have you checked the wiring between the sensor and ECM? The ECM is complaining it is not seeng the signal from the sensor. It could bea bad ECM, but most likely a damaged wire or a dirty or damaged connector. Get a wiring diagram and check out the wiring. A bad coil pack will not cause the trouble code to be set.
