4.10 gears - need help ASAP
i just bought a 96 camaro rs and it already had 4.10 gears installed and the speedometer is not accurate at all. and its not a certain MPH off - it changes by how fast i go. I drove hwy today and the governor kicked in when it hit 115 but I was just keeping up with traffic so it was about 80. do i need to recalibrate the speedometer? if so - where do i go or how do i do it?
also - what do 4.10 gears even do and how do they differentiate from others like 3.73 and 3.42?
thanks in advance for your help - i really need to fix this so i dont get pulled over and can actually drive on the hwy @ 80 comfortably. thanks.

RE: 4.10 gears - need help ASAP
how much do you think that would cost in a shop to reprogram? also - i bought the car with 4.10 gears but the guy also had a set of richmond 3.73 gears as well that i have in a box. whats the difference between the 2 and if i put the 3.73s in would i have to reprogram it too or would it go back to normal? i have a 1996 camaro rs 5 speed - but i dont know what it came with stock for gears, im guessing the 3.73s? i dont know.
