Exclamation Need some assistance!

I have a 1999 V6 3.4L, I recently had an issue where the car stalled out on me and would not turn over. We took it to a mechanic and was informed it was the TPS. We were also told that the TPS could not be replaced on mine, we had to replace the entire throttle body. THis was apprx. 2 1/2 months ago. Hte check engine light has come on again since then. I had a scan ran on it and was told that it was running lean on bank 1. It is now running differently. Last night it seemed to jump up on the RPM's while I was driving. It was running at about 1500 rpms but would jump up to around 2000 and then right back down. When it is in park it seems to shake. I have also put in new spark plugs. We were also told the cat is fine as well as the fuel system. Any advice that anyone could give to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanks

it should be a 3.8l v6 you have and the TPS can be replaced individually, you dont need to replace the throttlebody

what codes are comming up ?

I believe it was p0174, Also mine is a 3.4L not 3.8L. The mechanic said that because mine was what he called a "drive by wire" the throttle body could not be taken apart to replace the TPS but that I do not believe is the issue this time.
Thanks

FYI the last year for the 3.4 in a camaro was 95 and the 3.4 was never drive by wire in a camaro. Go pop your hood right on top of your engine cast right into the intake it says 3800. go look. As you thought TPS would not effect one bank, it would be both. Most likely cause are is a bad O2 sensor or a vacuum leak. But it could be low fuel pressure a bad injector leaking intake .........

It sounds like vaccum leak. Spray carb clean around the intake area, throttle body, and vaccum lines. If the RPM's go up look in that area for a leak. Probably is the where your "mechanic" changed the throttle body.

Like Gorn said, it sounds like a vacuum leak or bad O2 sensor on your 3.8. Bank 1 is driver side.

+1

Did you replace plug wires when you did the plugs? Just out of curiosity.
