3.4 Spudering and oil pressure at 0.
My 95' 3.4 is spuddering and my oil pressure is at zero. I have replaced my throttle positioning sensor, idle air control valve, EGR valve, oxygen sensor, spark plugs and wires and battery. i have a leak in my exaust manifold. Could this be a problem??? If you have any suggestions please let me know.

someone will correct me if i'm wrong because i'm not big on later model systems but, i do believe that you have a pressure switch that shuts down the fuel supply in cases of extremely low oil pressure. this keeps you from burning your bearings up. at the risk of sounding condesending ... have you checked your oil lately? sick

if your oil pressure reads 0 i would not start the car at all without changing the oil pump, and giving it a complete oil change AFTER you replace the pump. an exhaust manifold leak sounds like... a tick coming from the exhaust manifold, if its bad enough it could delay timing/ pick up on false knock, but that is the least of your worries if your oil pump is bad.

Thanx

Before you go through the hassle of changing the oil pump, check the oil pressure using a mechanical test gauge, your gauge or sending unit could be bad, and they are much easier to fix rgan chenging the pump.

I have a 1995 3.4L V6 Camaro and I have a similar problem. My oil pressure drops down to the first orange line on the guage even though my oil level is full. The oil pressure is normal when driving though and doesn't fluctuate. I also have that popping / tick sound and even intervals once the engine heats up. Do I have to replace the exhaust manifold or could it be the gasket?

Spend $15 an buy an engine stethoscope and pin down the source of the noise. Could be an exhaust leak, valve train problem, spark jumping to ground, bad bearing, etc..

I hada similar problem with my oil pressure on mine and it turned out to be the oil pressure sending unit (Oil Pressure Switch)so i changd it an they car read 80 pounds again and quit making any noise. But is this is the case with yours you should be able to tell by oil leaking on the exaust below the sending unit.
