Dude I've already done all the scouting on cams.... Check out my other post
I think Im going for the COMP CAMS HIGH ENERGY It's hydraulic flat tappet 1,000-5,000 RPM
I called Crane Today and gave them all the information about my car 94 3.4 v6 all that, and he suggested this cam POWERMAX 2030. what concerns me is the fact that it says it is made for 2.8-3.1L from 1980-1996. Will this cam work? I would imagine it would sense theoretically the 3.4 is basically a 3.1 stroked. $209.00
Here's the Links....
POWERMAX 2030 RPM Range:1200-4600

UPDATE: Talked to SUMMIT and they advised me to go for Crane Compucam and Lifter Package for 169.00 RPM RANGE:1,500-4,500

Talked to SUMMIT again and was advised to go for the COMP CAMS HIGH ENERGY w/ Lifters for $204.00 Due to the fact that the rpm range is from 1,000 -5,000 RPM

You will also want custom push rods from what I have read so things wear better and I am guessing it would run a little better too.
But you also have to have headers for this to work. The manifolds dont just bolt up.
You will also want to you dont have to but you will run rich without a pcm tune. You ecu thinks you still have 55cc chamber and you dont. So you will want to balance it all out or you wont get as much hp as you should.

That is extremely high compression. You dont want to run that high. Changing pistons is the best way.
The reason why its so high is the Iron heads have a compression chamber of 55cc and the alu heads have a chamber of only 28cc something like that. But thats a big difference

Keep an eye out, this is a 18 year old post. Are you aware of anyone that has done this? I have not followed the 3.4's in a long time but in the past all I have seen was theoretical builds. I know of one case where the guy started the build and the thread ended when he was about 75% finished. I assumed no one wanted to figure it out at this point because the LT1's are dirt cheap.
I am not real interested in the 3.4 for the camaro because of its weight and size but a 250 hp Fiero sounds like fun.
