3.4 to crate....yup am crazy enough to do it
 

well is it possible with a manual, for my 94. what do u all recommend, like where can i buy a crate that i can just drop in there, how much and how much work will be. where can i start looking PLEASE ANY HELP.

well you will have to find a matching transmission because your 5 speed probably wouldnt work too good, it will take a lot of modificate to get the new engine and trans to fit, it all depends how much you want to spend

Go to GM and order a 572. . . .it might not fit exsactly right, but you can make it work;)

"I can just drop in there" lol....nothing besides a 3.4 will be 'easy'...

what crate are you thinking? People have done LT1 and LS1 swaps...idk man

Youll deffinitly need a tranny our 5 spds are just not strong enough to hold any kind of v8 power

The 5-speed was the base for the 5.7, w/ the 6spd being an option I believe...

Ya for the base.... depending on what kind of crate you get i doubt that you will be able to use the 5spd without some consequences.

If i remember correctly, the Tremac T5 manual transmission will not withstand the amount of torque that v8's produce, which is the reasoning behind swapping the 6speed for the lt1 conversions. However The Tremac T5 ( same Transmission as camaro)is used in V8 Mustang GT's, Sotheoretically it will work on a v8 If it is internally upgraded.... Perhaps if you purchased a rebuild/upgrade kit for a GT mustang and install those parts into your tranny then Yes, it will work. I recall a website that specialized in transmission parts/upgradesfor the Tremac T5. Try Google.But like i said if you justuse the standard internals you will end up having to have it rebuiltregardless.

Well, the 5-speed migth take that abuse, since it was the sameguts asused behind 302's on the Ford side, but you ain't getting a 90 degree v8 to bolt up to a 60 degree bolt pattern tranny either way...
