RE: 2001 horse power
ok here's the deal...
RS = Appearance Package (Ground Effects and 3 Piece Rear Spoiler)
3800GT (or Y87) = V6 Performance Package (3.42 Gears, Auburn or Zexel Torsen Limited Slip Differential, Four Wheel Disc Brakes, 14.4:1 Sport Steering Ratio, Dual Outlet Muffler)
If you look on your insurance, it probably says "Camaro RS"...however, if you do not have the GFX and spoiler, you don't have an RS camaro...just some technical thing. Both RS and Y87 and Base Camaros (3.8) all have 200hp/225tq. The dual outlet muffler is basically for looks. However, a Y87 car may run a little bit faster just because of the improved gearing and LSD.

ALL V6 camaros (for alot of years) say Camaro RS on the registration...however they DO NOT have the RS package...IDK why GM did it like this, but If your car does not have RS Ground Effects and an RS Spoiler...it is not a true RS
