2000 Camaro V6 - P0102 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input
I have a 2000 Camaro V6 3.8L and has the code P0137 Oxygen O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 2) but does not have any performance issues since I figure that the O2 sensor is more emissions related. Every other day the SES light turns on then turns off but the car runs fine...until today.
It has a decrease in power and has sluggishness and now it also has code P0102 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input. It comes to a point where the car dies out and I have to restart. When I give it full throttle, it sputters.
The K&N filter is in good condition and the connector to the MAF sensor looks fine (I have a stock intake). There is not cracks on the intake or anything.
I was thinking of removing (and being really gentle) the MAF sensor and cleaning it with brake cleaner but wanted to see if I can get some advice here. Thanks in advance for your help!

You are right about the O2 sensor code. Just for emissions. You could try and clean the MAF. They have some electronic sensor cleaner stuff at the auto stores. Did you just re-oil the K&N?

Thanks for the reply.
The K&N has not been re-oiled. I checked the MAF 3 prong connector that connects from the car to the MAF sensor and looked fine. I even cleaned it with electrical cleaner.
Checked inside the MAF housing for anything blocking the passage (where the MAF sit) and inspected the MAF sensor and looked fine.
Should I clean the actual MAF sensor with the electrial cleaner?
Thanks!

I would try. Why I asked about the K&N being reoiled, was because some people over-oil them and it contaminates the MAF sensor. I have heard of folks who bought a new K&N, and the MAF was contaminated by the oil.

Thanks for the quick reply...
Actually I bought the car brand new in 2000 and put on the K&N that same year and hasnt given me any issues until now. Even when I would re-oil the K&N correctly, which was not recent...
Can the MAF sensor be tested?
Bad Connector?

I wouldn't know how to test it. I am sure there is a way though. It may not be contaminated, and may just be bad. Wouldn't hurt to clean it though.
