Gas disappearing when engine off??
This is very strange. Might be that the gas gauge is simply inaccurate or might be something more serious. But with the gas prices its starting to cost me and I wanna get to the bottom of this.
Basically this is what happens. I'd wake up in the morning and get in the car to set out to work. The gas tank would be, say, at exactly half a tank. Work is not too far(just 9 miles)so by the time i get there barely any gas disappears. I leave the car with the fuel gauge just a tiny bit under half a tank. Then 8 hours later when i come back to the car and start her up, I find the gauge at 3/8th of a tank, even though the car has been off the whole time. So I drive home, once again, barely any gas used up and leave the car overnight. When I wake up the next morning to go to work i find it at only 1/4 tank. And so on. This doesn't just happen when i go to work. In general I've noticed that if i leave the car sitting for a few hours some gas would mysteriously disappear.

RE: Gas disappearing when engine off??
Lastly, I suspected gas somehow leaking out into the engine through the injectors. It do get difficult starts after letting it sit for a few hours, and I do smell gas when starting her up. But is that possible?

Any reason you didn't just merge all the posts into the orginal one?
As for the gas issue, the f-body has very very inaccurate fuel gauges however, i'd still check for any leaks in your tank/gas lines. If you don't drive the car, does the needle still fluxuate?
