Default 1997 V6 Sound System - Where's the amp?

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum although I've had 3 F-bodies from 1999 until now even although I live in Scotland! My latest is a 1997 Camaro which is almost perfect - except for the sound system which is playing me up. It has an aftermarket deck (Ripspeed) with an inbuilt amp, but I think there's a factory fitted amp somewhere in the car - isn't there? If there is I need to reach it to check the speaker wiring (r/h front speaker is dead).

It's in the headunit itself I would think?

Don't know if it's a Monsoon that was originally in the car. I suspect the replacement unit (with amp) has been wired through the original amp wherever that is?

If it is a monsoon system in your car then there will be an amp. I believe its behind the driver seat below the speaker in next to the rear driver side seat. If its not a monsoon system there won't be an amp.

Yep! found a Delco monsoon amp (model 16218081) in front of the spare wheel. All I need now is my motor electrician to come and check it out.
Next job, I need to take the passenger door panel off as it has after market Pioneer speakers that are too big to unscrew through the speaker cover.
Any hints on how easy / difficult it is to take the door panel off guys?

It's quite easy just be careful when pulling it off not to crack the panel. I have a friend ( eric ) that has an '00 and he cracked the door panel pulling it off.
