Default 1996 Camaro 3.8 time for MODS!!!1

So i found the source of my exhaust leak. It wasnt the egr like i thought. It was the 2 broken bolts, one on each head. So i got the heads out and now want to take the opporunity to do some mods. It only took me a lil under 3 hours to take em off since this is my second time and with air tools.BTW never buy harbor freight air tools. So I'm going to take the heads to my machinist and ask him how much to port and polish the heads and intake. He usually gives me really good deals. Only 180 for complete valve job and resurface, but what about cam? I have no idea about cams and just want to be educated. What will i need for a cali street legal cam? I'm also not opposed to aftermarket heads, or maybe series 3 heads if they are much better. What are expected gains with cai and headers and then a tune afterwards(mail order). Thanks in advance.

A lil update I went to the machine shop and he immediately saw a crack in the head. So to fix the crack, remove 2 broken bolts, and fix where i drilled to far into the head $260. I asked him about pnp and he $380 for it all. He did say that i should go to bigger exhaust valve but the bride between the exhaust and intake valve is so thin that its most likely going to crack again. So i told him i would look into buying some series 3 heads since they are suppose to have bigger exhaust valves. Does anybody know how much bigger the exhaust valves are on the 3.8 series 3? Also he said to bring him the gasket im going to use. Anybody have good luck with felpro?
