1.8 aluminum roller rocker arms
I tried searching and didn't find anyone using this configuration...
I was under the impression that 1.8 rockers could be installed without any modification to a stock valvetrain (stock springs, pushrods, cam). Is this true? Has anyone done it? What kind of gains could I expect from this? Is it true the stock rockers are also rollers? Does it make much of a difference to get aluminum (SLP) versus steel (Yella-Terra) roller rockers? Sorry, lot of questions! Any insight is appreciated! YES, I know a cam will yield more power, but thats out of my price range at the moment. 1996 Camaro RS, 150k miles, 3800, CAI, headers, exhaust, mild tune. Engine internal is all stock. |
Yes the stock ones are Rollers, based on what I have read on Yella-Terra site you will need pushrods and rockers but not valve springs until you hit 1.9
