Default Vibration in OD???

So my car is finally legally on the road

However, I noticed at highway speeds (IE, right after OD engages 45-50MPH) I get a vibration in the car. Not super bad, but very noticeable. Goes away when I just shift it into drive.

I have not changed the tranny fluid yet, which is fairly dark. I am guessing that should be my first step? Should I put any type of cleaners into it before I do the pan drop? Any fluid recommendation? I was thinking of Valvoline Maxlife.

I also have not replaced the gear oil yet, but I didn't think that would effect this specifically. Gear oil is kinda icky looking, but I don't think I have ever seen gear oil that wasn't lol.

Thanks guys,
Claude

When the transmission shifts to OD the engine has to work harder (larger throttle opening & lower RPM) to maintain road speed. Although this increases fuel economy it also increases engine load. Engines under load are more prone to misfire. Try replacing plugs and wires first, before messing with the transmission. I seriously doubt that changing transmission fluid will help your problem.

I would hold off on the Sea Foam and use some single purpose injector cleaner, such a Techron.

I put that in the fuel tank as soon as I got it. Autozone had buy 1 get 1 free!

I was going to suck the seafoam in using a vacuum line, not in the fuel.

Just wanted to let you guys know what it was. While replacing the plugs and wires (and the wires were like welded on to the plugs, tore all the wires trying to get them off), I noticed cylinder no. 2's fuel injector was unplugged

Once that was plugged back in, it already was a heck of a lot betterI have a hunch, the place I took it to, to have the brakes done did it. It really started running crappy right after that, and they were saying it was my CAI (and that they couldn't find the a MAF sensor). Because I know they were all plugged in, when I swapped the injectors.

So yes, sad that I was not able to diagnose that at first, but oh well I guess.

Now I just gotta figure out why cruise control is not working...
