Trans shifts 2 - 3 only (+ rev )
Hey folks -
1995 V6 AUTO 110K mi.
At one point, it was shifting at really high RPM's , like 4,500 + , then, it now will set-off in Drive, unless 1 or 2 are selected, then you have to upshift, and it goes to 3 (drive) but never 4.
It has 2 idles. "normal" and about 1,900. It switches back and forth occasionally between the 2 idles for no known reason. Killing the ignition for a split second gets one solid second of normal idle, then back up she goes !!
I read the sticky :
"No 1st or 4th available; trans shifts 2nd to 3rd by itself in D or OD and locks the converter : ShiftA solenoid failed. Easy fix in the pan. Or a wiring problem from PCM to trans.. or PCM."
Any links to threads where this is discussed would be greatly appreciated.
