Possible need of a new tranny?

So I haven't been on the forums in a long time due to school finals and graduation. So I wanted to say Hi again to all the knowledgeable people on this forum.

It was a sunny afternoon here in Fairfax, Virginia. My younger cousin who had just gotten his license was telling me about it and was stoked. I told him he could drive my car. and I'd let him take it for a spin.

So he gets in and what does he do? A neutral drop... -_____-
I am so blown right now. That moment flashed in slow mo in front of me, I heard my exhaust rev and then a loud bang. I'm assuming he ****ed the tranny up. You leave it in neutral drive or reverse its making alota noise and rattling, sounds like a buncha of nuts and bolts in a blender on a larger scale.
Time for a new tranny?

So....when does your cousin get out of the hospital? ;)
Maybe a blown trans, maybe not. You're really going to want to get under the car while it's idling and look (listen) for the noises. He could have torn the trans mount, which I would practically expect it to be torn from that kind of abuse. Or the exhaust could have tweaked from the engine and trans dancing around, and maybe you hear a heat shroud or pipe vibrating/banging. You need to get under there and inspect to be certain.
