Default Differential/Axle noise

Have noticed a growling noise coming from the right rear of my bone-stock '96 SS for the past several months, and seemed to be getting louder. Suspected a bad axle bearing and had my local shop do an audio check and confirmed it was making noise. So I had them replace the bearings on both sides. Right-side bearing was definitely going bad. That was last week. The noise is back. Rather, still there. Mind you, this is a very reputable shop that does my work and I have no reason to think they did anything wrong. But my question now is, since the bearing WAS bad and they replaced BOTH sides and the noise is still coming from the right rear, what else could be making the noise !?
