Rear passenger side shocks/coil spring
1999 Chevy Camaro 6 Cylinder K 3.8L SFI OHV
So I've had this issue for a while now and I'm not sure what the issue is. I'm positive the shock isn't broke. I've bounced the back end up and down and it stops like it should it doesn't keep bouncing. Basically it makes a clunking noise like metal hitting metal im not too sure how to describe it. A while back I found a Round rubber looking bushing underneath my car but I have no idea where it came off from. I know its not the sway bars because I've already replaced all the bushings and what not for that and I've checked them. This seems to be about the size of my palm. Here are some pictures. It has metal ring on the button of it. If anyone could tell me what this is, or what they think the issue is It'd be much appreciated. It only makes this noise when I'm driving, and it deff does it when going over a large bump in the road or a sharp turn.

That looks like your spring isolaters. They go on top of your rear springs between the body and spring. That would be your metal clunking noise. Did you or someone jack the car up and let the rear end hang down because at that point the spring will be free from the body.
The only place to get that is a local salvage yard. Is the one you have torn or broke? If there's nothing wrong with it just pop out the rear spring and put it back in it will take you longer to jack the car up than reinstating the isolator.
Idk what to tell you there, All I know is i left and came back and it was sitting there. So Obviously somehow it came out.
id think something is broken allowing the spring to fall to far jack it up and take a good look compare it to the other side. even with the car up and the rear axle as far down as its allowed and the isolator out the spring should be tight in its cradle
Those springs come out very easy if you jack the car up and put a jack stand on the back frame then you let the rear end hang down even with the shocks still attached the spring will come loose so you can pull them out. I know because when I put lowering springs in my car before I had got shocks and did the very process to replace the springs. There could be a bunch of reasons for that isolater to fall out you just have to go under there and take a look when you get a chance.
