lowering springs
Would like to install lowering springs on my 99 SS convertible. Is this a hard job for a garage mechanic? Also is it necessary to change the shocks for springs that would lower car 1 1/2"

you are on the boarder line as far as needing to change shocks. be a good idea but dont have to. fyi shocks dictate ride and handling so quality is a good idea. bilstien slp is a good one thats reasonable in price, koni now makes a street shock thats a little less and are good as well.

I installed some Strano performance springs and Koni STR shocks this year and I''ll say the car looks and rides 100 percent better, I suggest you contact Sam and talk to him about what you want and desire and he will hook you up. Watch some youtube videos on changing the fronts and see if it is something you can handle. Your going to need a adjustable panhard bar to square up the rear end after lowering it.
