Front end lift?

Hey all, just a quick question.

I've got an (almost) completely stock 02 Z28. I think the only non-stock part is the muffler..

Anyway, I've noticed that this car has a tendency to lift the front end like crazy during hard acceleration, to the point where it almost feels like it's going to pop a wheelie lol.

So my question is this, to eliminate (or at least reduce) this lift, would I be better off buying a splitter (or spoiler) for the front end, or lowering the car? (In which case, would it be best to leave the rear at stock height and lower just the front?)

Thanks guys

how old and what kind of shocks are you using? a good set of adjustable ones will help. koni double adjustables have adjustments for both ways, compression and recovery. also a sway bar upgrade will help, strano has a nice hollow bar that works great.

Front end lift under acceleration causes weight transfer to the back of the car, which gives you better rear tire traction.
Drag cars, for instance, use special shocks that allows the front of the car to lift faster with less resistance.
Don't complain at all about what your car is doing, unless the reason is due to it having worn out shocks.

Oh, I was unaware of that. The car does have 150k on it, but I couldn't really tell you how worn the shocks are without taking them off and running some kind of test.

look at the shocks, are they orange, if so they probably have 150k on them. bilstein hd shock is a good one for 4th gens. koni is one of the best for 4th gens, they make a sport shock that is less expensive then the double adjustable. koni are pretty expensive. have a look at what strano has. If you swapped to a V6 the front end would lift less. I have a pretty solid 3800 out of an 02 with less mile if you want to trade.

^ lol

Gorn, you got a deal! :P

Seriously though, thanks for the help guys. Was planning on lowering her anyway (the space between the top of the wheels and the body is enormous), I was just concerned that it was a worn suspension issue.
