Default eibach lowering springs

I'm considering getting the Eibach lowering spring kit for my 96. I was looking on Summit and I can get them off there for $260. Then I also noticed a package that SLP put together which has the Bilstein performance shocks along with the Eibach lowering springs for $660 I think. My car has over 160k on it now and I know the shocks are going to have to be replaced in the near future. My only concern is would it be alright tojust buy the Eibach springs and put those on and just keep the old shocks until have the money to buy the Bilstein shocks, or would it just be best to wait until I can afford the spring shock package?

well... the front has struts, so you're gonna have to take the front struts out and take them to a shop to get the springs pressed on and then put them back on. Then when you get the new struts for the front you'll have to do it again. The back is easy, jack up the car up using the pumpkin and support car with jackstand, not on the axle, then detach lower bolt of shocks and lower the axle SLOWLY and the springs come out. Takes about half an hour! So... I would waitand get them all at once.Only becuase you're goning to have to pay a shop TWICE to press the springs onto the front struts!

Alrighty then. I guess I will just wait until I can afford the package to save me money in the long run. Now how much does that run to get the struts pressed on? Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

Just a warning!! Keep your fingers away when you compres the spring, if the compressor slips of it could realy hurt!! A pair of good thick glovs is a good thing to have. Trust me on that

just a word of wisdom...the bilsteins from what I understand SUCK....

Try KYB AGX's or the Koni 4/4 adjustables.

If you want suspension info try looking at stranoparts.com
They are very knowledgeable and really helpful in getting a good setup for your car...
