FYi The gages in your dash get their signal from the PCM. They do not read from the sensors like an old school gage. For the tack the PCM knows how fast the motor is turning and just tells the tach to read 3200 RPM. The tach itself can not read info from the coil.

One of the things you need to do when getting rid of the PCM and BCM is you are going to need a complete new wiring harness. I think even the head lights and turn signals go through the BCM.
Your gages will need to be something like this.

FYI, I dont think anyone here told you it could not be done. We may have said its not worth it in time and money but there are 100 of these converted cars out there. I see them being bought by scrappers at the auto auction all the time.

Gorn I was mostly referring to my parents and neighbors.

And well, i'm looking at my haynes manual right now and the coolant temp gauge and the oil pressure gauge do hook directly up to the sensors. My voltmeter and fuel gauge already work. I am aware that the tachometer and speedometer signals were processed by the pcm but I do know their is an aftermarket for signal processors, I've seen the ones I need before I just have to hunt them down now. Also, I still have my BCM

I don't need a new wiring harness though, I've gotten it all done myself while keeping most stock features working like the turn signals and lights etc.

Your BCM is useless without a working PCM. This means your heater conrtols power window and stuff like that have to be rewired. By needing a new harness I did not mean you would have to buy one. I ment you where going have to make one. Which is what you are doing.

The reason converted cars don't sell is mostly because of all the wiring issues. To trust a car like that you would have to trust the person that made all the connection. You are the only person that would ever trust it.

This really has nothing to do with the current status of your build, but you might want to tone it down on the YouTube stuff. I think it's great that you're posting videos of progress, and you should totally keep it up. But don't respond to the internet tough guys that want to act all tough because they're hiding behind a keyboard. Just keep doing what you're doing. Don't react to their comments the way you are now, that's just asking for trouble

@gorn

How is it useless? Everything in my car still works and i dont have my PCM? Turn signals, power windows, locks, etc are all good. Same in my friends mustang that doesnt have his pcm.

@DDRDiesel

Yeah idk. A lot of guys talk smack on there but i actually make a good amount of money from youtube haha

Agreed! that looks very sketchy! looks like a lawn mower fuel filter. I would definitely get a universal automotive fuel filter, and at the least get steel braided fuel line, but hard line is definitely the way it should be done.

One hell of a project! good luck!

Update, I ordered every part i could think of that I needed to finish the project. I already got one box, my next two will be here tomorrow. So after I get tested for ADHD tomorrow (lmao) I'm going to start installing in my cooling elements, headers, brake components, and steering parts. I also purchased a corvette 2nd gear servo piston and beast sun shell to go with my alto red frictions, high temp steels, and trans-go reprogramming kit. Taking the transmission in this week to have to professionally reassembled as well so I can get their warranty. Got quoted at a price that would make me an idiot to pass on.

I'll post pics soon.

Okay so I received every part I ordered from summit racing. Tomorrow my new front sway bar will arrive from UMI Performance, so I will put that in tomorrow. I only installed my headers today, because the radiator I bought was less than 1cm too wide to fit... >_< so i have to return it for a slightly smaller one. I also dropped off my transmission yesterday at George's Transmission and they are rebuilding it for me as well as installing my shift kit, beast sunshell, corvette servo, and cleaning everything.

The parts I recently purchased:

Pacesetter headers
Radiator
Hoses
Tranny cooler
Catch Can
TCi sun shell
Corvette servo + piston
Tranny line
Tranny cooler mounting kit

anndddd here come the pics

Alright, lets quit playin' around. Here are the passenger side headers after I installed them. LOTS of room still! even with the huge pipes and 3" collectors!

I was just amazed by how well and flush they fit. Companies do their homework I guess.

Thats all I have until tomorrow when I will post pics of my sway bar installation. Then I'll just be waiting on my tranny to be done and my new radiator. Let me know whatcha guys think!
