My 1995 3.4l Camaro build - V6 to V8 Conversion - PICTURES!!
Glad to see you're sticking to your guns and kept this project going and didn't just let it die like others. I'm also glad you've been mature enough to take advice yet still did what you want and didn't get all pissy about it and disappear. Keep up the good work can't wait to see the finished product.
@bandit Thanks!
And can someone PLEASE help me with this? On my starter, I have the big terminal in the middle connected directly to my battery. The littler terminal on the right labeled "s" connects to my ignition switch, right? Well when I touched the "s" wire to the positive on the battery the starter popped out real quick, and quit. I touched the wire to the battery again and now it doesn't do jack ****. The starter is grounded through the engine block. Any ideas?
and heres a better pic of the motor in

Was it grounded when you started it the first time? And was it a good ground (no paint)? I'd take it out and have it bench tested. Might have fried something.
Nice to see this updated. Been wondering what happened.

Yeah I sanded the area on the head where its grounded and I tested the ground with a digital voltage meter and their is only .02 voltage drop from the battery. so great ground. Idk maybe the guy sold me a bad starter
I'll put the ugly one back in and see if that one works. Maybe ill put the new one in vise grips and hook it up to a battery

Personally, I would have grounded it to the block....but that's me. It's possible you got a bad starter. Where'd you buy it from? When my Uncle was restoring his wife's GTO he went through 3 starters from NAPA before he got one that worked. Like I said, have it bench tested somewhere that way you know whether it's the starter or something else.
Not too bad if you know what you're doing. I thought powerblock had a video on doing it, but I guess not. Any ways, you can check on youtube and find some useful vids that'll walk you through it step by step. Sometimes it's easier to just replace it or the solenoid since that's usually what goes bad.
Also, now that I think about it, it's possible that if your battery wasn't fully charged, it damaged the starter...but don't let them know that.
Edit: Found it.

Coco, thanks for that 5:38 minute "2 Minute Tech" link.
I added it to our tech articles and DIY info thread in the general tech section: https://camaroforums.com/forum/gener...ll-info-34568/

Yeah thanks for the video! And I picked up a single wire oil pressure switch and a single wire coolant temp switch, I'm assuming these will connect directly to the dash. Am I correct? I read on my haynes manual that the tan wire goes to the oil pressure switch and the dark green wire goes to the temp switch (in the harness under the dash going to where the PCM was). Think I can just hook 'em right to the sensors?
And can anyone tell me what I have to buy to connect the HEI distributor to my stock tachometer? I have heard of "filters" but i'm 99.9% positive I need some type of signal processor because these Distributors work differently than the crank sensors in modern engines
