I greased my upper control arm mount big time, as well as the top of the strut mount, and underneath the body where it mounts, this will prevent rust and make it easier to take apart next time.

When installing my polyurethane bushings, the vertical ones are soooo easy! but dont get too excited... the horizontal ones are a major f****** pain in the a**!!!! Hide your kids and girlfriends cause ur gonna be cussin' up a storm if you plan on putting thiese bushings on haha.

See what I mean? I used sleeves and washers from duralast bushings which I think may have been part of the problem. We ended up getting it but had 3mm of the outer sleeve protruding from each side of the bushing mount, which seemed to be okay (not pictured) and still fit comfortably in the k member mount

Here's a pic after me and my buddy remembered the tie rod end goes upside down (I forgot haha), had to remount the sway bar because we forgot to tilt it when we mounted the strut to the lca. Also we couldn't find instructions for the sway bar end links but its kinda obvious after looking at the parts in the energy suspension bag. Make sure you put a jack under the LCA to put some weight on it and torque down the ball joints.

Passenger side strut assembly is lookin' a little lonely! tomorrow I'll take car of that other b**** of a bushing and get the other side done. Just waiting on the new hub assemblies to come in the mail now and I'll have the car off the stands with wheels back on!! can't wait!

Basically besides small things like misc fittings, I just need a torque converter, tunnel mounted torque arm kit, and brake lines. then ill drive it home and store it for the winter while anxiously waiting to drive it haha

I would hook up your steering and make sure that its not interferring with those headers any. If it works out let me know what part number they are because im doing the same thing to my car and im having problems with the drivers side exhaust. For the throttle cable, u can get the universal throttle cable but really the only part u are going to use is the little pieces that go from the actual cable to the carbeurator. use the cable from the V6. u will have to shorten it up some, the one that comes in that kit is so long it can just about touch the headlights. Just out of curiosity, how much did that k-member run you?

Got both wheels on! The front suspension is all the way done now! Its rlly fricken stiff too, o can tell just by jacking it up and down or bouncing on it. Sits a little higher too so i probably lost some weight in addition to the old suspension being so worn out.

Front view! Looks a lot meaner than when its in the air on stands lol.

Soo i turned the steering wheel a few times with the rack and pinion being depowered and it is nothing compared to turning it with a powered rack. Ill know more about it when i can actually drive the car around.

The k member is a road race tubular with integrated sbc/bbc mounts. It ran me about $650 after shipping. Sure made things a lot easier tho putting the motor in. I dropped it in from the top. The headers are pacesetters for a 1995 lt1 camaro, will fit any small block and clear the steering shaft/joint. For my throttle cable im gonna use a braided steel line from napa after i measure the length i need. My carb already has the brackets on it.

Sub'd. This is DOPE! I don't plan on swapping blocks...but this looks so SEXY!

What are you projecting in terms of numbers hp/torque on it?

So, I have a quick question for everyone in this thread. It's been said that a Camaro is known for its engine, meaning the engine makes the car. Since this is no longer a Camaro engine, is the car still a Camaro? Or is it something else, a Frankenstein engine with a Camaro body?

That I did not know. I'm assuming it was the first gen, correct?

@ DDRDiesel, riddle me this; Who made both the Camaro, and the engine Ellsworth put in it? There's your answer. a case could also be made that it's a real Hot Rod. Kudos to Ellsworth for his build.

its a motor that does not come from the factory in a 4th gen camaro. yep its a hot rod, aka frankencar. its what the op wants to do so more power to him and i hope it turns out very nice for him. not what i would do but thats ok, i can deal with it. lol.
