if your doing a cam you should do le2 heads and intake at the same time. save your money, do it right. its about 2k, then you need 1.6 roller rockers and your set. probly 2500 bucks for all. it will knock your socks off.

Craby I had planned on The LE2 heads and ported intake while it was apart. Also planned on Comp pro mag 1.6 rockers.
Another update. I just picked up this Ford 8.8 TracLok 31 spline 4.10 rear end out from under a 2000 Explorer for $140. I’m going to document making it work in my car on a budget. This should be going in my car completely rebuilt for $1000 or less. Will be a very budget friendly option for people. Basically I’m going to cut the 8.8 axle tubes off and weld in some 10 bolt axle tubes. The 10 bolt tubes will actually slide inside of the 8.8 tubes for a more structural build. Im going to order custom axles from Moser, rebuild the differential, have the torque arm mount welded on, etc.. That and the other nickel and dime stuff should bring everything to right at $1000. I’ll keep everyone updated on that deal. I might splurge on a couple nicer add ons for the rear that will put me over $1000 but the base build would still be right at $1000. Money is the factor for me, so this is going to happen over the course of 4-6 months but it’s going to be worth it knowing I have a stout foundation under my car.

kool, way less cost. looks like you gotta have some welding skills. dont use aftermarket gears, whine really bad. wish i woulda thought to shorten mine when they built it so i could use a deeper dish wheel in the back.

Yeah the welding part is covered lol. If I wasn’t using my SS wheels, I’d cut the axle tubes shorter and run a deep dish wheel of some sort but I plan on keeping my SS wheels on there. I plan on using the stock 4.10 gears with a new clutch pack and bearing/seal kit.

Got some goodies for my rear end in the mail today. Torque arm mount to be welded to the 8.8 and a conversion joint to hook the 8.8 up to my stock driveshaft.
I also picked up a unicorn part. A good condition console lid without a broke hinge. Pretty stoked about that!

I got a couple things with the car done yesterday. Nothing crazy. Installed the new u-joint between the steel Camaro driveshaft and the 8.8 yoke flange. Also changed the oil. My motor mounts came in the mail today. Gonna try to get those installed some time in the next couple weeks.
