they are swamped, also talked with Lloyd to get him to freshen up the le2 heads, he said he was swamped to. was interested in seeing the heads after almost 60k miles.

 

Thats kind of funny cause for me that shop is a step back in time. Most shops have very few non-computer controlled machines these days. Go check images of Texas speed machine shop. Keep in mind those are some of the cheapest Industrial CNC machines available. Those older machines can do a nice job but they are mush more reliant on the skill of the operator.

 

finally got time to go pick up the 383 block today. hope to have it in the car by next summer. should be 12 to1 or so compression.

changing the heater core, got the old one out and new one in yesterday. just gotta button things up now. what a pain the in butt. in factory service manual they make it sound so easy to just pull it out from under the dash,,,

 

Ya I love those manuals. The steps sound so easy. I guess if you do a bunch of them it gets easier. My first gen even looks easy but I really think its a young mans job. My back hurt like a mother by the time I was done.

Could have been a lot worse some of the GM cars require the whole air box to come out, look its only 6 steps. Step one remove dash..... .

 

I paid to have the one in my '99 Silverado replaced,didn't want any part of that job after the battle I had just replacing the mode actuator.
I hate working on anything made after about the late '70's.
