Shift Knob

I drive an automatic 2001 z28, but can I replace the shift nob with a nob for a standard? or does the shift nob NEED to have the little button to press ?

They sell adapters to fit manual knobs on there. The button you speak of pushes down a piece of plastic. What you do with the adapters is, simply press the knob down, as opposed to the button. http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=1860
