Need some helpful advice
I have no idea what the silver octagon looking thing is..Floid is leaking out of it and the belt is off the track a little bit.....need some help on what to do...plus the car shuts off not sure if it's the battery...

its part of the air conditioning. make sure you got gas. other than that it stopping runing could be a number of things. confirm your getting gas and comfirm spark and go from there.

It's called a receiver drier, there are desiccant pellets inside that absorbs moisture. The fluid leaking out is the refrigerant. Your A/C system needs an overhaul.
