Inside window rubber issue

Ok, moving on from my overheating issue I am having a problem with the driver side window stopping while going down because the inside rubber is folding in on the window as it goes down and keeps it from going down all the way.

Is there a way I can stop this from happening? With all the trouble I read about with window motors while doing a search for this problem I don't want to cause any more stress on the motor than necessary.

After doing both window motors in my '98, I can tell you it's a LITTLE bit of a pain the first time through. Just google search how to do it, and there's pictures of where to drill.
Once you get down on in the door though, you can really just kind of feel around behind with you hand of where you need to drill in order to get access to those rivets.
Do it once, and then replacing the window motors won't hurt NEARLY as bad as the first time ever again.

I don't know about the rubber strip there. It sounds like it may just be old and needs to get replaced. Wish I could contribute more there, but that's my only guess.
