Using an iPad while driving could be a disaster waiting to happen...

Actually this is correct. My wording was more like "that's retarded" but w/e you want it out of your line of site, and easily accessible, along with the capability to be stored when it's not safe to use it...

Then by inference, the same would be said about any OEM car NAV systems or aftermarket ones as well. Or really anything you do in the car besides driving. Using an iPad for NAV is really no different than any other implementation.

No its not, but your talking about using it for more than nav, and all nav systems say right on the start up screen "do not operate while driving". now if you mount it in the glove box on a swivel so that when the glove box is open and the ipad is on you can turn it towards the driver and see it. this is what i was saying, but instead you assumed you knew what i was saying and decided to contradict everything i said.

i know its hard to use your imagination to grasp what im saying because not everyone thinks in CAD drawings... With the back of the glove box cut out (so its just the outer cover) and an ipad "dock" of any kind mounted on one edge to the top of the glovebox door, mount the ipad so when the door is closed it faces the front of the car. then taking industrial sliders, or steel chord, mount the other side (the bottom of the glovebox door, side) to the underside of the dashboard. This way you open the glove box and the ipad flips and shows the screen to the driver and passenger.

You might as well forget it Bud, any idea with practicality seems to be of no interest to Liberty.

Hey, go for it then. You might as well benefit from Apple's success too.
