Question Winter Wheels 16" vs. 17", tire widths?

Stupid question of the week: Is there ANY difference in winter traction with 16" vs. 17" wheels? I am considering buying some Blizzaks, but cannot imagine any real difference between the two? How about the tire widths -- I imagine that wider should be better for a larger contact patch, right?

Wheel diameter doesn't matter, but tire width does. The wider the tread, the more apt it is to "float" on top of the snow.
Thinner tires will dig and grab better.

ehh i would say a camaro isnt exactly a winter car

but, go with a width tyre thats the same size as your factory wheel... or get steelies that are the same bolt pattern but even skinnier than the stockz
