Update: ive shifted from Neutral all the way to 1st and nothing negative happened. Ive driven it around the neighborhood and listened and revved and listened and it just seems like a thumping coming from under my feet (driver side) but my gf in the passenger seatnoticed it aswell.

Well, something very similar happened to me one fine day. I just starting feeling vibration under my feet whenever I'd accelerate hard. And with time it got worse, until I'd always feel it at about 2500-4000 rpm range. And then all of a sudden, after a month of driving with that vibration I hear metal grinding and realize that the transmission is done. Turns out the stem of one of the gears in the planetary gearset fractured, and it kept getting worse until it just stopped working.

yeah, i have a fealing its my tranny. I was waiting for it to go kaput... maybe ill buy the tranny and engine out of another LT1 camaro and just rebuild them and install them at the same time... hopefully it wont go with in the next year.. lol. But ive always had kinda alot of vibration like my car just naturally vibrates i guess when im stopped. anyway its not like i floored it in reverse i just gave it alil gas and put it back in drive then sped up so i didnt get rear ended. Ive thus far reved it in park, reversed and went thru all the gears and nothing exploded so idk what could be the problem... ill give her a rest tonight and see how she feels tomorrow.

Sounds like it could be a an issue with the tranny mount. Check to make sure it's not screwed up before you go out and buy a new transmission (I need to replace my tranny mount as well). If it is messed up, go and get a eurathane mount and you should be good to go.

i had my auto tech instructor look at it and he says he thinks its a tranny mount too. He put blocks on my tires and had me press the brake and give it gas in drive and reverse and it shook in reverse so he concured it was a tranny mount. I actually had someone interested in buying my car for 5k.. which was a surprise.. but it couldnt have come at a better time, theres a Metalic Navy blue 99 T/A forsale by my grandmas house.
