Who wants to guess my 1/4 mile time?
It is that time of year in Las Vegas when the drag strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway starts midnight mayhem. It is a cool event where you can "run what you brung". The last time I ran on that track was in 2005. It was my wife's '95 3.8L Mustang auto and it ran a 19!
I'm excited, I've had my Z for about 17 months now and am finally comfortable with running it...at least once my OBD I cable parts arrive and I can tune the shift point down.
Here is what I've upgraded, otherwise bone stock 117k miles:
3,200 rpm converter
CAI
Flowmaster American thunder cat back
Poly torque bar mount (likely wont matter but it feels a bit different)
Strut brace (obviously doesn't help)
Fresh tires, stock size 245/50/16, W-rated.
I'm hoping to get down in the 13s. I think my converter makes a huge difference in how it launches. Unfortunately it will bounce off the rev limiter a bit before shifting as a result of the higher stall, so I need to adjust that this week.
Will post up some slips and hopefully a video after next weekend's run. Hopefully I won't break the damn thing!

Your 94 was rated in the low 14's in the 1/4 as it came from the factory. Ok, the engine has 117k miles, but with what you've done to the car, you sure better be at least in the 13's.

Oh I know...problem is that some of my exhaust manifold bolts broke off in the head on the drivers side so it would be a lot of crappy work to get that fixed and get the headers to seal. I was able to get the stock manifold to mostly seal, using silicone instead of a gasket helped.
What I'd really like to do is come across a cheap junked LT1 and build it in my garage at my convenience (cam, heads, rockers, etc., maybe even a stroker crank), the swap that in with headers and such.
