Default Whining noise from my Z28?

Well once again I've got a problem with my 1995 Z28... This time I seem to have a high pitched whining noise coming from what sounds like the air vents, but it could just be from the front of the car somewhere. It gets louder as my RPM's increase, and when i turn on the heater/ac and turn up the power of the air flow it gets really choppy sounding and almost sounds like the air is staticky(like bad radio reception noise). I would've thought it might be the belt but when its affecting the air system I lose all ideas what it could be except maybe a bad tubing somewhere or something got lose. Any ideas from you guys? It's really irritating to hear and I can't use the air effectively now. (Also the AC was recharged recently, and the car has 123k miles, if that matters at all). Thanks for any help guys.

*EDIT* Well I decided I would check the speakers and sure enough all my speakers are making the whiny static noise. Blown Speakers?(the noise does get higher pitched as the RPM's increase). And I don't know if it is related to the air ventilation issues or not. HELP please!! I'm gettin tired of throwing money into this car and I need some help. Thanks a million for your help.

Does it only make the sound when the interior air fan is on, or does it make it at all times?

If you can make it stop by turning off the interior vent fan, then you have found your problem.

However, you said that it increases as RPMs go up, so I would start to think it is something being run off the serpentine belt. Could be the AC compressor, alternator, idler pulley, etc.

Since the AC was recently serviced, the first thing I would look at would be the AC compressor. If they did a complete evac and recharge, it is possible they sucked out some or all of the compressor oil. If they didn't put the correct amount back in, then you get the idea.

Pull the serpentine belt off and start the car to see if the sound is still there.

When i have the vent fans off the whine noise does continue. And unfortunately i think the whining gets quieter when i turn off lights and the radio, or i could just be imagining it, cuz i dont think its all that noticeable.

Might be the alternator.

I do have a nice 1200 watt sound system with amp and all but the sound system wouldnt be screwing up the airflow through the vents. So im stumped. unless it is in fact the air ventilation motor, but it doesnt happen everytime im driving the car either.

Check your serpentine belt, tensioner, and pulleys -- they could be causing odd sounds too... A bad alternator bearing could as well... By chance are you having pulsating/flickering dash lights and/or headlamps?
