Hello I own a 02 3.8L and was wondering how big my tank is..now I haven't filled it up all the way but today I was almost on empty and put 5.5 gallons in and it went up to half tank..does my car only have a 12 gallon tank or is my float off?

Should be 16 or 15.5 iirc. Gas tank shape makes the gas gauge read inaccurately. Just put gas in when you hit the halfway mark and you'll always be good.

 

If the float was off wouldn't my low fuel light come on that's if my year has a low fuel light? And where would my low fuel light come at as far as where the needle is on the gauge?

 

Also is the car empty on E or after? I think my gauge is off

 

there all different, my 3.4 would go all the way to E but my Z28 would be empty and leave me stranded at 1/8th tank.

 

Does the 02 3.8 come with a low fuel indicator?

 

a "check gauges light" which if the tank is empty above 1/8th tank wont help at all. like mc said just put fuel in at half tank, youll never run out and youll extend the life of the pump by keeping it cool.

the check gauge light for low fuel in the 98 up camaro. should come on when you have a couple gallons left

 

my 94 and 95 had check gauge lights both came on with low fuel but the Z ran out like a mile after the light came on
