what to do with my lt1

as of now ive got a 98 camaro v6 but im selling it and im buyin an 93 lt1 z with a 6 speed in like the next couple of days, but idk which way to go with it, i was thinking about doing a forged rebuild kit and starting off there, or going ahead and bolting up an ls1 to it, anyone got some pointers for me or any other suggestions

haha, i wish i had the money for the ls7, but the car has 128k on it, and i found a pretty good deal on an ls1 so i might go with that

The LS1 swap isn't going to be cheap, nor will it be fast and easy. You'll need a full LS1 donor car to get all the right sensors and other computer parts etc. IMHO you should just beef out the LT1.

if i beef up the lt, im gonna do the forged rebuild so she can handle some hp, and prolly rebuilt the tranny, but i was thinkin maybe a supercharger after the rebuild and beefin up the rear end some, i dont know if that will be too much or not, but where can i get a good forged kit, or will i need to buy everything seperate

The Problem with the LS7 is because it utilizes the LS2 block the mounting points are different from the LS1 and LS6. You have to do a good amount of modification to get an LS2 to fit into a car that was made for an LS1. On the other hand, you can still get the C5-R racing motor to mount in if you want the 427.

As far as the forged kit, I'm not sure if anyone has one put together, but the parts aren't going to be that hard to come by alone. You may want to think about a 4-bolt main if you're looking to push a ton of power.
