What is a 1994 Z28 worth?
82,000 miles, red, no t-tops, 6 speed, not leather interior. He says no rust.
The guy says $5000 is the least he will take. Seems a bit high to me.
I was thinking more like $4000 if really clean and runs and drives well.
Thanks for all input before i go see this car.

a 94 z28 is worth about 2-3 grand the 6 speed will boost that 500-1000 so your looking at no more than 4 grand... so imo 5000 is too much even tho its low miles its still a 17 year old car
Thanks, and $4000 would be for a really nice car, correct?
I had pretty much decided to go with a LS1 anyway.
To be completely honest, you need to see what cars of that year and style are going for in your area.
There are way too many variables when trying to estimate the value of a car. More than just the miles and options affect a car's value. Location affects value quite a bit. A car is more expensive in southern California than it would be Fargo, ND.
But, I agreee that $5K seems a bit high to me.

The 6 speed will up the price $1,500 depending on the condition of the tranny on LT1 cars. A T56 will run you $1,000-$1,500 alone... combine that with your location (the northeast, mostly imports up here) and the availability of M6 cars (less than 1 of every 4 Z28s)... $5,000 sounds about right for that mileage IF everything is in order and it's in good condition. If there are a few hiccups I'd talk him down to $4,500, but he's right on the mark. You aren't going to find a better deal on an M6 in your area.
To put things into perspective...
There are only 3 M6 cars on the Philly CL right now.
One car is $9,000 from a stealership w/100k and loaded.
The other is fsbo for $6,000 w/80k, hardtop, no leather.
The last is fsbo for $4,300 w/unknown mileage, hardtop, no leather. There's a laundry list of things that were replaced (head gasket... implying that the car overheated, was juiced, abused, or has insanely high mileage) and on top of this it needs a clutch. I would steer clear of a problem child like that... the seller doesn't even know how to spell its name... listed as a "CAMERO."
Everything else is automatic.
I paid $5,000 for my 96 Z28 M6 w/79k and one previous owner, t-tops, leather, and factory chrome wheels at a small time dealership.
My friend paid $4,000 for his 95 Z28 M6 w/120k from the 3rd owner, t-tops, and no leather. Car needed a clutch, was leaking from the oil pressure sender, had an O2 fault, and needed a new MAF. Chewing gum was holding a fuse in place and the dash was cracked in several places.

I can't tell from here but
if I walked up to a low mile 6 speed and
the paint was in awesome shape
the interior was awesome
the tires were all new or a couple months old
it DID NOT have the ugly salad shooters but nice aftermarket wheels
brakes were good
clutch not slipping
everything worked
no leaks
I'd pay $5,000 in a heartbeat.
4 decent tires mounted and balanced will run you $700
parts for brakes will run you $150 (do it yourself)
if it has aftermarket wheels than that's another $600 right there which you won't need to spend because who wants the salad shooters?
so, you always need to factor in make ready work which is or isn't needed

that's a lot of ifs
you know the cars we usually go see LOL, they guy says "I put new tires on it" he fails to mention that was 2 years ago.
If it was thjat nice i too would go $5000, but this car has no t-tops and is not leather interior.
When my work takes me that direction next, i will go see it.
