ahh the old lose plug deal,,, now you need to find out if your tank is full.

yeah we are almost sure the tank is full. we dont see how it could be anything else. since i had this car service engine soon light on. i put it on my scanner and it says the code is p0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank one. Is this because i have no cat since the previous owner removed it.

yes no cat would throw that code. is that the only one.

yeah its the only code that comes up. is it bad to be driving it around with no cat. whoever did it did a nice job welding the straight pipe in.

Not gonna hurt a thing. The only thing is the nuisance of the light being on, that and you won't know if anything else were to trip the light unless you do spot checks. With a functioning cat in place, the pre and post cat 02 sensors would be reading differently. With the cat gone, they'll be reading pretty much the same, the system knows something is wrong with the cat, and trips the code. That code is only for cat monitoring, and has no effect on how the engine runs.
