weird problem

This is a common issue with your BCM or Body Control Module. What has happened is there is a relay in the BCM that breaks loose from the PC board and causes the radio and other items to stop working every now and then. To fix this you have 2 options.
1. buy new BCM for $300+ at the dealer and have them reprogram your car. (yea spendy)
or.
2. Remove your BCM and reflow the solder on the relay and correct the issue. (little to no money spent if you own a soldering iron)
Gimme a few and I will try to find the pic that helped me fix mine a few weeks ago.

OK here is the image. I hope this helps you, i know it did for me. The area that is affected is circled in red and the joints of the relay that need to be soldered are circled in black. I used a 40W iron and some fresh solder to reflow mine. You can use a smaller iron if you want but you will have to apply the heat for longer, thus potentially damaging the BCM.

Im not sure about the OBDI camaro's RAP module. Most GM cars I have had to do BCM stuff with the RAP is in the BCM. BCMs started being widely used around 90 in Cadillac and 93 most other models. This is also the same time that the RAP feature started to show up. Right now I only have access to OBDII Camaros and the oldest one is a 1995. (yes it is an OBDII car).
I will make a post about repairing the BCM here soon.
