v6 TO v8 SWAP
hey guys I'm in to the forum, and the camaro world. I've always wanted a Camaro and I finlay got an 1999 v6, but I really wanted a V8 LS1 model. I want to swap out the motor and trans, but I want to be sure it can be done and what I need to make it happen. In the beginning i thought it was just a simple drop and swap, but I've been told its much more to it.

Welcome, Head over to the 4th gen V6 section. There is a sticky V6-V8 swap. It is doable but its a huge project and not worth the work. Right now LS1 engines are not much cheaper then LS1 Camaros.

Oh this is such a simple swap. All you do is sell your v6 and buy someone elses LS1. Either way an LS1 camaro has to be bought to make this swap. If you want to do the swap you better find as many electrical diagrams as you can and memorize them as that's the hardest part of the whole swap. Engine easy trany easy. Getting the electrical to work hard. Ask Massey all about it he's help a guy do it before.
