Default v6 - ls1 | Brake Rotors ?

I have a 97 v6 camaro and I was wondering if the rotors are the same size on the z28/ss as the Rs which I have. My car has front and rear disc brakes and every one I asked said there the same.

I was looking at these they say they will work on all engine types and if they dont fit they have a money back guarantee.

93-97 are the same. 98-02 are bigger the then the 93-97 rotors and calipers.

93-97 also matter between Z28 and V6. The RS got the Z28 brakes but the normal V6 did not.

My front brakes on my 95 non rs were the same as the z28. the only difference was in the rear obviously i had drums in the rear and the z28 had disk.

Just a quick check at autozone shows the same part number for both V6 & V8. So for a 97 it dose not matter. 98 (first years for LS1) would have a larger rotor.

Personally I have not yet had the pleasure of having both a V6 and V8 side by each.

OK this is messed up... LOL I just checked the online website for my store and it shows 1 pad for V6 and V8, so I called my store and had them look it up... 2 different part numbers. Year 95 only. It is a data error in my system. The other part number is the same as mid size FWD brakes. Dont you just love computers. So belay my last as it looks like the pads are the same V6 and V8.

This is messed up but my car has disc front and rear and its a RS so I guess it has z28 brakes but on the other hand my car is a 97 and has the 98 interior so it could have the different brakes ?

But this company has a money back guarantee on fitments and a year warranty against rust and warping thought it was a good deal. all 4 rotors for $145

That is one I have not heard before. 98 was a design change for the dash/console. I thought all the 97's had the 30 year an.. stuff on it? The brake upgrade in 98 was a pretty big one not just rotore size. I could see GM "trying out" some cosmedic trim, but saftey system a to have a major brake upgrade mid year I think would be a major pain if a recall call was required.

Edit: Its real easy to tell, 93-97 uses a old school cast iron single piston caliper. the 98+ uses a twin piston aluminum caliper.

Ok mine has the 93-97 calipers so thats good. When I got my car the console lid was broken and i was looking at catalogs and the console lid was different then I looked at the 98-02 and i have the same console. BTW: consoles are expensive !
