if it helps, I generally always mount them to the spare tire well or right above the rear axle in case they leak, break etc

Your trans and power steering coolers? Man, that's got to be a whole lot of extra line to get them that far back.

I have no power steering, but yes, trans cooler is definitely back there. Its a lot of extra line, but in the long run, its nice because its not in front of my drive tires

My stacked plane B&M cooler just got in the mail, looks super fancy, lol. No idea how that thing gets machine together like that.

I do understand the safety factor of it, but isn't that a whole lot of extra pressure that the transmission has to deal with pushing? I feel like the general automotive manufacturers shifted to putting transmission coolers up front for a specific purpose of the extra airflow.

Yeah, I went with the biggest one that I could find, that still had an install thread on LS1 tech. The only thing bigger has its own cooling fan with a temperature relay sensor in-line, and that guys upwards of $345. Too much for my use, and my budget, lol.

Not sure for the power steering though. Maybe something more low tech, like this?

that is why mine is on my rad for extra cooling an air ,my B&M cooler was designed to go there an sticks with a special tape ,though no matter where you put it it, needs about 6 feet of hose or line to the trans,i only have one couse of the shift kit for hard shifting stall speed shifting can get things hot fast

I'm going to be running mine in series with the factory radiator, so it's not actually replacing anything directly. I won't need some 6 feet+ of hose, because it's just going from in front of the condenser, then lines from the transmission return and radiator return outlet/inlet respectively. B&M actually recommend running it this way in series (additively) for additional higher capacity cooling.

They do manufacture a bigger one that has it's own fan (as mentioned in my previous post), and that one they say can be run on it's own. That's pushing more into 'racecar' territory however, and as expected, is much more expensive.

Sorry to double post, but it's probably good that I called that guy when I did. I noticed my oil pressure has been high lately (thick oil, due for change), and the dark color definitely indicates as much.

However, I've been neglecting to check the tranny fluid since the tranny swap out while I've been taking it around town. DARK fluid, barely pink. It's getting towed to the shop some time this coming week, after the cooler install this monday. Not risking it. ugh.

Let's hope I haven't ****ed anything up. It wasn't driving any differently, but that's not to say that the fouled transmission fluid isn't masking a problem.
Shouldn't have listened to the transmission shop that never did any custom work, for the installation without the cooler.
