the 3.4 doesnt have an air pump only the LT1 as far as i know. let me think about it for a while, ill remember eventually.

edit: as far as i can remember theres no electrical over in that area (except the fuse box and the abs but its neither of those) where is the wire coming from?

Right under the abs module is a huge bulk of wires. 1 line seperates to go to the fuse box. this also comes from the same spot.
I havent seen it in a camaro yet, but I did see an air pump in the firebird that had the 3.4l in it at the junkyard.
I cant find a spot that it connects though. So Im really thrown for a loop. Unless my camaro did have an air pump but the last owner removed it and left the plug sitting there? Would that cause any problems?
The only things that I know of that he did was put on a "short ram air intake" , which was the worst excuse of one I have ever seen and a horrible idea for the camaro, and a magnaflow cat back exhaust.

If your car had an air pump, and the plug was disconnected, it would throw a check engine light.
It's possible some harnesses are the same between v6 and Z28 models, and that plug would be for the air pump if the car was a Z28.
So in your case, not used and stuffed away. Is there anything on your car that isn't working?

Doesn't seem like it. Everything seems fine. I was just worried it went to a knock sensor or something. Im not quite sure where that even is on my car so I figured I better make sure.

Also, any info on how to reset the ecu after the batteries been unplugged for quite some time?

unhooking battery will clear codes and reset main computer. connecting battery cables pos and neg (with battery unhooked of coarse) together for a few minutes will reset/clear sensors and such.

The 3.4 doesn't have a knock sensor. Could it go towards the front bumper? What's the emissions on your car, us or California?

Sure it does, it's on the passenger side, center of block.

Hmm, it has been a while since I've had the 3.4L. I'm going off 2 year old memories.

Maybe you shouldn't ask a 2 year old what they remember! lol
Computer controlled ignition engines need a knock sensor to adjust timing according to fuel octane if necessary.
Does your Hondur engine have a k.s.?
