Default Traction Control Switch- HELP

I just bought a 95 Z-28 6 Speed, and I love the car. The question I have is, I keep hearing about a switch to turn the Traction Control off. I looked all over the interior of my car and there is no switch to be found. It even mentions the switch in my owners manual, but it is definatly no where I can see, and I have looked all over. Was the switch an option? Was it only on certain year cars? Also,if I don't have the switch is my Traction Control just on all the time?

Traction control was an option and is always on after each start, unless you turn it off.If you can light up the rear wheels, you don't have it.

My 96 had the traction control option. Every time you start the car it's active, and I would always automatically turn it off. It doesn't work the same way as somemodern cars work. When the traction control kicked in, it would momentarily reduce the engine's power, andpush thegas pedal back up. Sometimes itwas a dangerous option to have, putting me in harms way. Nothing worse than pulling out in traffic, having the traction control kick in, then literally hitting the hooks! I did leave it on during a heavy rain, but still had to be cautious to not make it activate. But mostly, it was more of a nuisance to me...I wanted tohave control ofthe car.
