Default Traction

On my 94 Z LT1 I'm not getting good traction. Now I'm just running plain radials but I have to take off slow or I'll light 'em up and I mean I have to fether the damn thing. I was told that adding a new torque arm will help alot but I'm not sure. Was wondering if anyone could fill me in on things you've done that have worked for you. I'll be looking into some drag ET's but that'll be later on and only on while at the track. Also, I don't want to lower the car or get anymore ofa rough ride than it already has. I know that would help a lot but what about the torque bar and lower controls and a new panhard bar (assuming there's one under there). Also, what's the widest tire that can be ran in the rear without any issues and without sticking out of the fender? Hope this isn't a "this is ALWAYS asked kind of thread. Thanks all!

you need better tires. thats all there really is to it. if you want to go a cheaper route that isnt as good of a fix you can get LCA relocation brackets. they do help, but its more of a bunny hop sort of mod. reduces wheel hop and gives you a firmer plant. you may want to look into new rims that are wide enough for a 275 tire if u dont have them already and look at some good tires like BFG KDWII or Nittos

the KDW's are pretty good btw for a non-drag street radial. ive seen new stangs pull 1.8 60's on them. they could help u out too. what tires are u running now?

theres the BFG's.. they are summer tires, which means traction falls quite a bit when its cold because of the softer compound tending to harden up at lower temps. the KDW's are ALMOST drag radials

I'm running 274/40/ZR17 KDWS all around (stupid Colorado and it's snow making me need an all season radial!) but they hook up pretty well. They still spin all through first though. I would suggest the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval's they're supposed to be a great tire.

I have 275-40-18 Avon Tech M550's on all corners pullin 425hp and don't get to much spin unless I really try to. 158 bucks a piece for those big meats on tirerack.com I swear by that place, I love 'em.
