i hear a ticking sound when i accelerating. im barely pressin the pedal and hear nothin but as i accelerate harder the soundgets fasteri did take it to a mechanic to find out if it was my pacesetterheaders .thats the only time i hear the noise.94 v6 auto

 

Header gasket is probably leaking.

 

A ticking sound (from under the hood) could be a number of things:
1. Noisy lifters
2. Noisy fuel injectors
3. Exhaust leak between the head and manifold/headers
4. Exhaust leak at the head pipe donut
5. Bad plug wires leaking and shorting out to ground

 

its prob something to do with myheaders would it give me bad gas milage

 

pop the hood while it's running, that will tell you where the noise is coming from.

 

iput my ear up by the right front tire with the car started andcan reallyhear the noise but cant tell where its comin from
