Thinking of getting camaro ss
Hey, I have a 2004 mach 1 with 7000 miles on it and im deciding to put it in the garage to keep the value up. Now im deciding to either buy a camaro ss 98-02 or another mach 1. I like to know the specifications of the SS, any problems, positive or negatives, would like to know ur opinion between the two choices and like to know how much u like ur ss.

Well the camaro ss out performs any mustang unless its a newer cobra with a blower/supercharger. If you buy a camaro ss you should go with a 01 or 02. They made these camaros a little better than the 98 to 00. You are only going to have problems if you do not take good care of the car other than that camaros are very good cars that will last. Once you drive one you will love the car. Good luck...

you already have a mach1. also, you are probably going to be holding onto that car for a couple decades before you can call it an investment. so i think you should go with something different.
the ls1 camaro is 346ci 350hp (regardless of trim, and regardless of ratings)
only real weakness is the rear end, its not uncommon to break it, and alot of guys go with 9" or 12 bolts.
they also burn a little oil usually. its never a big deal though. lots of cars still running strong after 150k miles and no oil added between changes.
my dad has a mach1 (03), and to me that car just feels like a pooch. they dont take to mods quite as well as the ls1 (mine has around 400rwhp, so thats why it feels slow), but they sit a little higher and make you feel more engaged. even my old GT was more pleasant to tool around in. burnounts and donuts felt more controlable, but it was mostly the way the car is setup. I just found it a more fun car all around, however, its not as fast, so it really depends on ur definition of fun.
but really, u got 1 mach. dotn get another, thats a waste IMO

You will love it trust me. I have an 01 Cobra, and a 98 V6 Camaro. Find someone who has one and take a ride or better yet drive it. The things are beasts, and are quite affordable for what you're getting.

ya, a couple of my friends around here have a camaro SS, i rode in one and i liked it alot but i need to drive one so see how i feel about it, no doubt a camaro ss is a nice car and has the power to back it up, i just need to see how it feels compared to the mach 1.
But i also heard that the Camaro SS is pretty good on handling or got and suspension upgrade, is this true?

it got a slight suspension upgrade from SLP..... i dont count it for all that much. if i had bought one i still would have swapped out the suspension parts pretty quick.

a little faster than the mach1 and responds better to mods. its significantly faster than the NA cobra. slower than the supercharged cobra, and u really cant beat the modibility of an SC motor.
