i have a 94 with the v6. im stuck on what this could be...as my car warms up if im sitting still like at a fast food place the temp on my camaro starts to rise and even reaches the red but as it rises my oil pressure drops and it too doesnt stop til its in the red, but when i start driving again the oil pressure rises and the temp starts falling when i get wind going through it. any idea on what could make the temp rise and oil pressure drop? the fans are good, new radiator, water pump, heater core and therm. thank you for your time

 

well as the temp increases the oil becomes thinner which is what causes the drop in pressure. but the fact that the temp will redline is very bad. it could be possible you have a blown headgasket whats your oil look like? when you replaced the cooling system are you sure you got all the air out?

 

test your temp sensor. are the fans coming on when the temp goes up that high? what is the oil pressure at cold start and operating temp? what oil are you using? may want to go with a little heavier grade next change.
